VOXED is seeking an experienced male performer and female performer for the creation and performance of a new dance-theatre work titled Vestige. In addition to Choreographer/Director Wayne Parsons, performers will be working with Dramaturg Pooja Ghai (Associate Director Theatre Royal Stratford East) and Writer Ankur Bahl (performer at The Globe, RSC and DV8)
Male: Playing age 30-45 years old. We’re looking for an experienced performer with strong character work, partner work, and the ability to explore movement that originates from a theatrical drive. Applicants must have strong acting and text abilities, as the performer will deliver a 10-minute monologue in the work. No specific accent is required, however the performer must be comfortable playing a character who comes from a high social status and education.
Female: We’re looking for an experienced performer with strong character work, floor work, partner work, and the ability to explore movement that originates from a theatrical drive.
Performers from all ethnicities and nationalities are encouraged to apply. Must be eligible to work in the UK. No travel fees will be covered.
Dates for the project are as follows:
Initial Creation and Performance period:
5-23 December 2016
30 January 2017 – 5 February 2017
20-25 February 2017 (Performance on 25 February at Rich Mix, London)
Remount:
4 days to remount Vestige w/c 17 July 2017 (exact schedule TBC)
One performance w/c 24 July 2017 in Cambridge (exact date TBC)
