Choreographed by Wayne Parsons, Chrysalis explored our search for individual identity. Nine masked dancers emerged from the set and, one by one, freed themselves from their anonymous socialisation. Exploring the virtuosic movement language that was to become a trademark of Wayne Parsons’ work Chrysalis was a celebration of composition and, and the transformative nature of design.

For this production, Wayne collaborated with designer Emma Fisher from the Welsh College of Music and Drama.

Chrysalis toured across Wales as part of National Dance Company of Wales’ Alternative Routes season.
